Wanda Yvette Holmes (Lipscomb), passed away on December 30, 2008. Survived by parents, William B. and Martha H. Holmes; sons, Dwayne Gray and Dashawn Lipscomb; daughter, Damika Tucker; sister, Sarah Jacobs; grandmother, Mildred Hinton, and companion Thaddeus Heath. Preceded in death by daughter, Latoya Gray; brother, William B. Holmes, Jr.; grandparents, William and Nancy Holmes, and June Hinton. Visitation 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2009 Angelus Funeral Directors, 2535 Airport Road. Funeral services 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 6, Trinity Baptist 617 E. Fountain Blvd.

We shared some great moments during my tour of duty at Ft Carson. I left for Germany and we never saw each other again. I recently found out that you transitioned years ago. I thought about you and the boys(it was just the two of them) often over the years. I hope you had a joyful life Wanda and that your children and family are all doing well. Rest dear friend.
