Anthony Cottone Obituary

Anthony "Tony" John
Cottone
April 30, 1951
January 18, 2023

Anthony John "Tony" Cottone passed from this life on January 18, 2023. Tony loved Life, fishing, hunting, gardening, beekeeping and people. Tony was born in Winchester, Massachusetts, and moved to Colorado at a young age. Tony graduated from Air Academy High School in 1970. He honorably served this Nation by joining the US Navy after high school, and served on the USS Forrestal. After the Navy, Tony was employed by the City of Colorado Springs. His main goals in Life were to laugh and share that laughter with the people around him. He strived to live in a self-sustaining way. He never met a stranger. Tony always shared himself and his joy. He always looked for the good and kept a positive attitude. One of his common quotes was "keep the positivity going". He was preceded in leaving by his loving parents Gaspare and Angie Cottone, and leaves his sisters Denise and Beattie and their families to carry on his positivity. A small footprint on our Earth; a huge imprint on our hearts. Cherry biscuits. Much love. Rest in Peace

Tony and I met at the Black Forest Elementary School, played baseball for the Black Forest Athletic Association, went to Air Academy Junior High and High school where we graduated in 1970. I have tried to find him on my journey back to Colorado just to catch up and find out he has passed. Condolences to Denise, Beattie and family. "We have the watch shipmate."

Dear Beattie I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my brother Jim 5 years ago and so I understand the hole it leaves in your heart. I am thinking about you and praying for you and your family.
Sincerely, Carol

I also graduated from Air Academy High School in 1970. I got out my old yearbook to look at pictures of Tony and reminisce. My condolences to his family and friends.
