Audrey Elizabeth (Stoker) Deul, passed away in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Tuesday, August 21, 2018.
Audrey Elizabeth Stoker was born, on October 10, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Alexander and Ella Stoker. She graduated from Waterloo High School and married Morris Deul in Waterloo, Illinois, on January 6, 1951. Together they had three children, Michael Deul, Susan Emmerson and Robert Deul.
While raising her family, Audrey worked part-time and volunteered for several organizations, as well as co-owned Van Horne Cottages in Manitou Springs, Colorado. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, volunteered at the Manitou Chamber, served Kiwanis dinners and was an officer in the Manitou Women's Club. Audrey was also a member of the Valley Hi Golf League and enjoyed golf, bridge, swim exercise, entertaining, traveling, baking and making fun memories with family and friends. Her gifts of compassion and kindness were shared with many.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Morris Charles Deul; children, Susan (Steve) Emmerson and Robert Deul (Kirsten Toy Deul); grandchildren, Nicholas (Brooke) Emmerson, Jessica (Mark Gleason) Emmerson, Madeline (Ryan) Sturms, Thomas Deul; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Eliana Emmerson and baby Sturms due in September.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; brother and wife, Robert and Bernice Stoker; sister and husband, Helen and Jim Jarrells and her son, Michael Deul.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 31, 2018, at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
Private inurnment will be held in Geneseo, Illinois at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Youth Program, 420 N. Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903 or Pikes Peak Hospice, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905.
