Becky Lyons

August 4, 1953

January 6, 2022

Becky was born the second of four daughters, and a lifelong tomboy. In her younger years, she could throw a ball farther and harder than anyone else. She could win any race, on a track or in a pool. Many of our summers were spent at baseball parks across Colorado, supporting Dad as he played center field, and hit homeruns. Becky was always the leader in tracking down those homerun balls, and she was always rewarded with some sort of prize!

Becky always acknowledged that she was never "a student". So, after high school, she began her life in the working world. After taking various jobs that were not to her liking, she and her best friend, Anna, decided to move to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. They were fortunate to both find jobs as tellers in the same bank. Though they enjoyed their lives in Florida, after a couple of years, they both realized that they missed their families in Colorado, and moved back home.

Shortly after her return, Becky began working at King Soopers in the checkstand, and stocking shelves. There, she made many friends and other connections. After a few years, she decided to apply for a job at Target, where she remained, working her way through the ranks, until her retirement in 2011.

Becky shared her life with her family here in Colorado Springs. She was born August 4, 1953 to Jack and Dorothy Lyons, who preceded her in death. Our youngest sister, Julie Lyons Careaga preceded Becky in death in 2009. Becky is survived by sisters, Jan Lyons Lamb and Patti Gasco. Also left to cherish her memory are nieces Jessi Lamb and Amanda Gasco, nephews Jim Lamb (Stef) and Ben Gasco (Vicky), and great nieces and nephews- Kinsey, Grace, Owen, Luke and Jace. Always so very special to Becky were her four legged friends, all Boston Terriers. She started by adopting Mariah, and later, Micah, Mali and Sadie. We are so grateful that Mali and Sadie, who survive Becky, have now been adopted into loving homes. We know that makes Becky smile.

Sadly, and unexpectedly, we lost Becky on January 6, 2022. Her heart gave out, and she was taken to join our other family members as another angel who will always watch over us. We will miss Becky's deep voice and hearty laugh, which often brought her, and us to tears! We'll miss the sister lunches and brunches, especially at our favorite spot in the Garden of the Gods. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to your favorite pet rescue or the Humane Society. A celebration of Becky's life will take place at a later date.
