Bernard Gannon Obituary

Bernard Anthony (Andy) Gannon, III, age 49, of Murray, KY, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at his residence. Dr. Gannon was born in Princeton, New Jersey on May 6, 1961. He received his Bachelor and Master Degrees from Marquette University, and a PhD at Southern Illinois University. He was a former professor at Murray State University for 14 years. He was of Catholic faith. Dr. Gannon is survived by his daughter, Grace Gannon of Murray, KY; sons, Charlie Gannon and Jack Gannon both of Murray, KY; mother Wilma Lovins Gannon of Murray, KY; sister, Laura Gannon Young of Jacksonville, FL; brothers Tim (Paula) Gannon of Louisville, KY, Kevin Gannon of Murray, KY, Mark (Christy) Gannon of Charlotte, NC; former wife and mother of children, Amy (Straus) Gannon of Murray, KY; nieces, Kaitlyn Young of Jacksonville, FL, and Elizabeth Gannon of Louisville, KY; nephews, Steven Young and Shiah Gannon both of Jacksonville, FL. Graveside services were held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the New Concord Cemetery. Father Jason McClure officiated. Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
