Betty Dyatt Memoriam

Betty Marie Dyatt was born in Denver, Colorado and died in San Marcos, California after a long illness.

She graduated from the University of Denver Law School in 1947 Cum Laude where she was one of two women in her class. Upon graduation, she moved to Colorado Springs to practice law, was head of a mutual fund company, and lecturer at Colorado College from 1977 to 1986 in business law and investments.

One of Betty's proudest achievements was her service on the Peaks Peak Community College Advisory Council. She joined the inaugural advisory council in 1967 and the Pikes Peak Community College opened in a converted Safeway grocery store a year later. By the time she left the council in 1985, construction had started on its permanent campus. Upon retirement in 1986, Betty moved to San Marcos, California.

She was predeceased by Henry Heyser of Colorado Springs and Richard Wareham of San Marcos, California.

Betty is survived by her niece, Dianne Dyatt Hornbrook, great-nephews Charles and Andrew Hornbrook, and great-niece Elizabeth Hornbrook Garner.
