Carolyn Jean Jolstad of Colorado Springs, Colorado, took her final journey into the arms of the Lord on October 13th in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Carolyn was born June 16, 1935 to parents Mike and Freda (Higgs) Pierce of Ellendale, North Dakota. Carolyn was the second oldest of four children and is survived by her sister and brother. Carolyn graduated with honors from Ellendale High School in 1953 and attended North Dakota State University. She was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and graduated in 1957. She married her college sweetheart Percy Jolstad in June 1957 and they were married for over six decades. The couple has three children, Peter (Robin) of North Carolina, Thomas (Leisa) of Colorado, Sara (Kevin) of Arizona, and five grandchildren. The family has many years of wonderful memories together both in Colorado and Arizona. Carolyn was active in numerous organizations throughout her lifetime. She was a founding and active member of Sunrise United Methodist Church. She also was an active member of the P.E.O Sisterhood, Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni Chapter in Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs Retired Home Economics Organization, and served in a variety of leadership roles with the Colorado Springs Debutante Ball. Carolyn was known for her loyal friendships, devotion to her family and grandchildren, and is fondly remembered by all who knew her. Per Carolyn's request, no public services are planned.
