Carroll Frenzel Obituary

Dr. Carroll William Frenzel was born September 13, 1930 in Rib Lake, Wisconsin, son of Bernard and Pearl. He served in the United States Air Force, Korea, S/SGT; 1009th Special Weapons Squadron; Honorably Discharged. He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees at The University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Atmospheric Physics and Systems Engineering at The University of Arizona, Tucson. He was elected to the Society of Sigma Xi. He was an executive at IBM Corporation for twenty-three years; Professor and Chairman of the Information Systems department at The University of Colorado, Boulder, retiring as Director of the Business Research Division. Dr. Frenzel authored four editions of "The Management of Information Technology." He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Dr. John Carroll, daughter in law Dr. Elizabeth, and granddaughter Alexandra of Houston, Texas; daughter Lisa and grandson Jason of Colorado Springs. Carroll passed away January 29, 2011 at the age of 80. Dr. Carroll and wife Barbara were members of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Carroll was a kind and loving husband and father - a trusted friend. He will be in our prayers and hearts with loving memories of a wonderful man who enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and the freedom of our country. Services are pending.
