CECILIA "SHEILA" R. BUSTAMANTE

Cecilia R. "Sheila" Bustamante passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. She is survived by her children David A. Bustamante (LaRae Bustamante) of Sacramento, CA, Mark C. Bustamante (Sue Bustamante) of Colorado Springs, CO, James S. Bustamante of San Diego, CA, Manuel C. "Busty" Bustamante (Cheri Bustamante) of Las Vegas, NV, and Maria Aldrich (Robert Aldrich) of Loveland, CO, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel C. "Chris" Bustamante, her son Edward D. Bustamante, her sister Maria Rodriguez, and her brothers Conrad Campos and Isauro Campos.
Cecilia was born to Hermino Campos and Maria Reyes in Topeka KS November 22, 1928. She graduated from St. Margaret's Hospital School of Nursing in 1951,
holding a career as a Registered Nurse for over 45 years. After her retirement, she continued to volunteer with local medical services. She and Manuel wed in 1953 and remained married until his passing in 2020. Cecilia called Colorado Springs "home" for nearly 43 years, and loved to travel. She saw all 50 states, and her feet touched the continents of North America, South America, Australia, Europe and Asia numerous times. She took her last trip abroad to Portugal with her niece Rosie at the ripe age of 90.
Cecilia was a member of TREA for over 43 years, Knights of Columbus for 43 years, and was a champion pinochle player.
She loved family, friends and will be fondly remembered for her vast elephant collection. Cecilia graciously donated her body to science and will be cremated. There will be no viewing or service at this time. The family will be holding a celebration of life for both Chris and Sheila later this year.
