Born on March 16, 1934 in Shreveport, LA. Charles was the son of the late Dewey and Virginia Farrar. He earned a degree in petroleum engineering from Louisiana State University and worked as an engineer for Mobile Corporation. In retirement, he moved to Colorado and lived in Monument, CO for many years.
Charles was a devoted husband to his wife, Lucy Hatmaker Farrar for 36 years. He was a loving father to his three children, Suzanne Kellison (AR), Mark Farrar(TX) and Chuck Farrar (LA) and to his step children Karen Proffitt (AZ), Steve Proffitt (CA) and Kevin Proffitt (TN). He was a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren and six step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucy, step son Bob Proffitt and two brothers Robert Farrar and Sonny Farrar. He has one surviving brother, Gerald Farrar (TX).
Charles was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and his passion for hunting in the great outdoors. After retiring from Mobile Oil, he was the founder and broker for Tri-Lakes Reality in Monument, CO and also started Front Range Alpacas, often managing up to 85 alpacas. One of his favorite pastimes was watching LSU football and also cheering on the Broncos. He touched many lives in a positive way - always willing to help friends and family. He will be dearly missed. The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.
