Daniel C. Mattas, 84, passed away peacefully in his home in Colorado Springs on June 5, 2021. He was born in Bronx, NY before making his way to Colorado. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Mattas, of 56 years, his son, Daniel Mattas, 4 grandchildren, Adam, Rachel, Julie and Danny, his grandson, Hayden, 2 sisters, Jeannie Harrington and Darlene Gerou, 2 brothers, Bill Mattas and Tom Mattas and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Daniel achieved many accomplishments throughout his life which include, Ballroom Dancer, Professional Boxer, Professional Weight Lifter, Processional Horse Trainer and Talent Agent. He also had a passion for exploring the jungles of Costa Rica and had a huge love of the American Indian Heritage where he donated countless hours of his time to.
Please come help us celebrate the life of this extraordinary man. His Wolf spirit will live forever in all of the hearts and minds of all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will truly be missed by all.
Viewing will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Cappadona Funeral Home located at 1020 E. Fillmore St, Colorado Springs.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Cappadona Funeral Home at 10:00 am and followed by Buriel Service at Evergreen Cemetry located at 1005 Hancock Expy, Colorado Springs.
In remembrance of Daniel, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations in behalf of the Sioux Nation Tribe. (Please include: In honor of Daniel C. Mattas)
