Still overwhelmed with grief...I can't imagine what your family is going through. To "wish" is not a healthy road to go down but it's so very difficult not to. I miss you so much, my friend.

Evelyn and I just got back into the country a few days ago and were shocked to hear the news of your passing. Our thoughts and prayers go to your friends and family in this most difficult time.
This is how we will always think of you.

I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done,
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing
times and bright and
summer days.
I’d like the tears of those who
grieve, to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories that I leave
When life is done.

Davey, you were a wonderful person and you will be greatly missed. You were one of the first people I met at work and made the greatest impression on me there. I can still hear you saying "shenanigans" about something. I'll never forget your breast pump impressions or your crocks or "Crouch-less Leah-tards". And yes, Moorpark is a real place! You are missed and loved, but will never be forgotten.

Janelle and family: I'm so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers as you try to overcome this. May God give you strength.

Dave was an incredible person. His charisma could light up anyone’s day regardless of the situation and could motivate those in the worst of situations. I remember when Dave came to T-Mobile, he was one of the most dedicated employees I ever had and one that I knew, if given half a chance would do great things. Alas, he touched the lives of countless people and simultaneously left a legacy of “work hard and play harder” amongst the characteristics of the people he helped develop. Those are traits that will forever be instilled in those people and in which some ways Dave will live on forever.

I am very glad to have had the chance to known Dave. He certainly made this world a better place.

Godspeed Dave, you will be missed. . . . .

Dave was a great man. I can remember playing or should I say losing fooseball to hm regularly. He was always there to help was a great friend. I look around at tmobile and see so many people that dave touched personally, as more than a mentor. The hard times about how the broncos suck, the skins rule, the call of the shot at foose before it happened, and the first person to always help, those things won't ever be replaced. I still walk in expecting to hear it," how bout that fake field goal for the touchdown, only my skins could do that ! "My friends and I only knew dave about 8 months, most interacted with him daily during that time, but it still shocked me how someone so new to my life could have such a deep connection with so many. He will be missed by so many and rememberred forever, myself included. I'd write more, but I gotta go practice, and maybe when I see ya agin, I may actually win one. Miss you Dave and I'll keep practicing, I promise. - Brandon LaBrec

Dave,
I knew you thru work. You always had a smile, and stunning eyes. I did not have the opportunity to get to know you better, unfortunately. I know you will be missed.

Janelle,
You are a shining light, and were such a rock to me in some very difficult times in my life. It was you who made it possible for me to hang on to what was important in my life when I wanted to give up. Thank you. I will keep you close to my prayers thru this time, as I know how you are missing him. Remember, I am here for you too.

For the Crouch Family, my family sends our condolences.

Dave
I have nothing but fond and happy memories of you. From our travel to Boise, to our everyday conversations about dogs, cars, houses, technology and who knows what else. You were someone that I looked forward to seeing and talking to, and you leave an unquestionable void. You were always positive, laughing, smiling and had a great sense of humor, not to mention just being a great person. The person you were makes this that much harder to absorb and work through.

Thank you for the impact you had on me, and everyone else that you blessed, I will always remember our friendship.

Dave-
I remember the fun of trying to find you a desk and occupy your time when you first moved here from ABQ. Your patience, gratitude and light-hearted approach to life instantly made an impression that will forever be left on me and all those whose lives you touched. Foos-on my friend!

Janelle-
I can't begin to imagine what you are going through, but my prayer for you and your family is for "peace that surpasses all understanding" and a new closeness with one another and the Lord. Philippians 4:6-7

Curtis Smale

March 4, 2010

To Dave Crouch's family and friends,

My name is Curtis Smale. I worked with Dave about 5 years ago at T-Mobile.

Since then, I left T-Mobile and lived in Phoenix, Arizona, and am now back in the Springs.

Dave and I had many great conversations at T-Mobile over the couple of years I knew him. We always talked about God and Jesus and spiritual things. Also we talked philosophy and music and about our life adventures.

Dave had made me a mix tape DVD of Dave Matthews music which I listened to just two or three weeks ago.

Dave was a great conversationalist--very interested and enthusiastic about a wide variety of things.

Today, a coworker (here in the Springs), who also worked with Dave and I, mentioned Dave's name and asked if I knew him.

I couldn't believe that he mentioned his name because I had just listened to the DVD Dave made for me and I was thinking of giving him a call about week and a half ago, but I no longer had his phone number.

What a shock to hear about such a great guy's life ending so young.

I want you all to know that many people say a lot of nice things about people when they die, but the truth is that Dave truly was one on the most positive and interesting people I have ever met. He truly had a zest for life, no exaggeration.

God bless you, Dave. I hope to see you with Jesus in Heaven soon, my brother.

I wish I would have called a few weeks ago.

Now I never can.

God bless you in Jesus' grace, His love, and His sure salvation.

God bless ya, bro.

Curtis

in memory

I'm Not Here

Don't stand by my grave and weep
for i'm not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glint on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn's rain.

When you awaken in morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circle flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die.
