Donna Pasley Obituary

February 3, 1957 - August 7, 2008 Donna, 51, passed away at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs after losing a battle with Ovarian cancer. She was born in Waco, Texas to Jerrold C. Pasley, Sr. and Carol A. (Padgett) Pasley. She is survived by her parents; brother, Jerrold C. Pasley, Jr. (Carol); sisters, Pamela K. Howell (Billy), Cheryl L. Pitchford (Karl), and Cynthia A. Schaeffer (Rick); three nieces, Kelly Torres, Sarah Pitchford and Candice Schlotzhauer; two nephews, Adam Pitchford and Joshua Pasley; three great nephews and two great nieces. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Wilma L. Beard and John D. Padgett and paternal grandparents, Grace M. Pasley and Clyde E. Pasley. Growing up in a military family, Donna attended schools and lived in Waco, Texas, Anchorage, Alaska and Vacaville, California. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1971 and Donna attended Russell Middle School and graduated from Palmer High School in 1975. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1979 where she made her home. She worked various jobs over the years. When she began losing her battle with cancer, she returned to Colorado Springs to spend her remaining time with her family. Donna was a free spirit, loving all of nature, especially our beautiful Colorado mountains. She loved serenity, rainfalls, and animals. She could not say no to stray doggies who crossed her path so she provided love and a home for many of them over the years. As with doggies, she also had a tender heart for kitties and fed every homeless one she came across. She was also lovingly known to be a bit feisty. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A private family inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will also scatter some of her ashes in the Colorado mountains she loved. Friends in Atlanta gathered to pay tribute and honor her life. Many thanks to Regina Butler, Donna's long time best friend for being her friend and for being there for her and helping her with her cancer battle while in Atlanta. Donations may be made in Donna's name to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care, Suite 600, 825 Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903-3624 and to Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Rest in peace Donna.
