Ferris Leazer Obituary

Ferris Faye Leazer was welcomed into heaven on June 20, 2010. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 57 years, as well as four daughters. Ferris was born to Rex and Ferne (Epperly) Bull on August 31, 1934 in Wapello County, Iowa. She was raised on a farm and attended a one room country schoolhouse. She graduated high school at 16, went to Iowa State Teacher's College, and married Jim Leazer, her high school sweetheart, on December 20, 1952. She taught school in her early married days. She was a dedicated homemaker and the bookkeeper at Leazer's Jewelry, the business she and Jim started together in Loveland, CO. Ferris will be missed by her husband Jim, her daughters Robin, Laurel, Anita and Melissa, sons-in-law Vernon Smith, Bill Sleigh, and Scott Rouse. She was a fun Grandma and was very involved in the lives of her nine grandchildren. Ferris will be remembered as a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and faithful, praying Christian. She passed away surrounded by her family after a difficult battle with cancer. In keeping with her wishes, Ferris will be cremated and the ashes will be buried in the family plot in Iowa. Please join us at a memorial service on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Radiant Church, 4020 Maizeland Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80909. Dear Jim and family Can not tell you how much I will miss Precious Ferris. She was always such a support to me. So sorry for your loss,Jim. I was able to attend her Memoprial Service, but did not sign the book. Her service was absolutely beautiful and most likely what she would have wanted. You were so good to her through all of her illness, Jim. I will always remember her waving at us as you pushed her into the doctor's office at Christmas time. Was so happy to lend the walker to her just wish it would have worked for her. My dad would have been happy also, as it was his walker. God Bless and know you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Carol and Gary Gordon Radiant Church.
