I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Helen through her mother, who was my dear & long time special friend, Doris Ogden...
Helen was so much like her mother with a kind & loving presence, very soft spoken, & I so enjoyed our conversations when I visited her mother, Doris, who I always addressed as Mrs. Ogden...
I was very touched when Helen invited me & my sister to one of her concerts when she was a singing member with the Colorado Springs Chorale. My relationship with Helen's mother, Mrs. Ogden, was a very special friendship that began when Mrs. Ogden volunteered in my classroom while I was teaching for Head Start. Our friendship blossomed & grew through mutual love & respect & continued for many years until Mrs. Ogden passed. During those years I was most fortunate to meet Helen, Kith, & other members of her family... a highlight & true blessing of our friendship was my husband & I visiting Mrs. Ogden's beloved lakeside family retreat in the east... That is a favorite memory & will forever live inside my heart. Meeting Helen was a joy & watching the love & respect between Helen & her mother, Mr. Ogden, was truly heartwarming as I could feel the deep connection they shared. Mrs. Ogden's summers at the lake meant the world to her & she was thrilled when Helen & other family would join her there. My life is richer from knowing the Ogdens & the many extended family. May Helen rest in peace now...
