Holly Tryon Obituary

Holly O. (Porter) Tryon, long time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. She was born July 20, 1963 in State College, Pennsylvania to J. Wayne Porter and Ruth Lillian (Davison) Porter. The family moved to Colorado Springs in October 1968, and she spent the majority of her life living in Black Forest. Holly graduated from Air Academy High School in 1981, and she was a long-standing employee of Safeway at various locations in Colorado Springs and northern Denver where she was an ardent fundraiser for breast cancer research. She married Jeffery E. Tryon on March 12, 1996, and she had a deep passion for music and dancing. From an early age, Holly's musical ear allowed her to play any song on the piano.

Holly is survived by her daughter and two grandchildren from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by five siblings, Nanette Gay Gonzales (husband Terry Richards) of Colorado Springs, Heather Olive Porter-Cornell (husband Martin Cornell) of Colorado Springs, Oliver Wayne Porter of Alexandria, Virginia, Daniel Arden Porter (wife Jessica Morgan) of Manitou Springs, David Alan Porter of Colorado Springs, and several nieces and nephews. Holly is preceded in death by both her parents and her husband.

A celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at Cappadona Funeral Home, 1020 E. Fillmore St., Colorado Springs, 520-1817. A private burial will follow on Wednesday, April 6.
