Horace (Bud) Burbank Holmes, III

Horace Burbank Holmes III. Born May 23, 1947 passed away January 27, 2023. Bud, one of six children, number 3 and eldest son of June and Judge( Bud) Horace Burbank Holmes of Boulder Colorado died rather suddenly from a heart attack. He had a comfortable life growing up in Boulder attending Mapleton Elementary School, Casey Junior High, and Boulder High School. He attended the University of Colorado where he belonged to the ATO fraternity. During his junior year, he attended school in Aix en Provence, France. He was in the Navy air force at Pensacola, Fl. He has had a variety of jobs; purchasing agent, selling insurance, selling vacation share time, and worked on an oil rig. He has resided in Colorado Springs for many years. He has been working for Lennox Heating and Cooling in Colorado Springs located in a COSTCO store. He became friends with the COSTCO folks and his Lennox people. His closest companions have been his dear cats. There will be a memorial service for him in Boulder later and he will be buried in Green Mountain Cemetery.

Bud and I shared a fun summer hitch hiking around Europe. Our lives took different paths when we returned. I saw him from time to time at Costco and he was the same old Bud I remembered from our European adventure. He will be missed and I will remember him fondly.
