Jack Lee Close
May 17, 1927 - May 17, 2018
Jack Lee Close passed away peacefully May 17th, 2018. He became a resident of Colorado Springs, retiring from the US Air Force in 1969. Jack was born in Bedford County, King, PA on May 17th, 1927 to Albert Norman Close and Clara Margaret (Hengst) Close.
Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 67 years, Mary (Wefel) Close, his daughters- Sheryl Lambert, Barbara (Marlin) Nynas and Linda Parker all of Colorado. He had seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. His sisters, Evelyn (Close) Middleswarth (deceased) and Janet (Mark) Shuey both of PA.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25th, 2018 at 10:00am at Gateway Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the church, 731 Castle Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.

I am sorry you are no longer here on earth but excited about you going ahead and making sure that there will be room for those of us who look forward to being with you again. I feel extremely blessed to have had you in my life for as long as I did. Knowing you stayed long enough to celebrate even for a bit your 91st birthday was really special. I know you are having a blast in heaven with other loved ones who preceded you. You will always be missed, Dad, but so thankful you are no longer suffering. Thank you for staying with us as long as you did. No one will ever fill your shoes. Your obituary said it best: "your Absence has gone through us like a thread through a needle, everything we do is stitched with it's color." Thanks for all the life's lessons you gave us. Rest in Peace until we meet again. With Love.
