Jacob Beardt Obituary

Jacob Beardt (92) was born January 16,1921 in McCook, NB, to Casper Beardt and Anna Marie Strassheim and was 1 of 13 children. He passed away in his home in Manitou Springs, CO June 30th, 2013. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from September 9th, 1942 to October 5th, 1945 as a Seaman First Class. He was a retired Local Union Number 9 member for 61 years and served in the union as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was married to Wilma Beardt for 66 years, who passed in March 2013. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Jess Kinney; his sister, Esther Farris; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great­grandchildren. Jake will be deeply missed and never forgotten by those who knew and loved him. A Visitation will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 10:00am with the Funeral Service at 11:00am with the burial to follow. All will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home.
