Jacqueline Thompson Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" (Dunn) Thompson

October 26, 1950

February 27, 2022

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Jackie Thompson, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the age of 71. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-laws Matthew & Sabrina and Mark & Jillian, six grandsons (Luc, Connor, Zachery, Alexander, Ben, and Beckham), one grand daughter-in-law Anahi, one granddaughter (Madelyn), and one great grandson (Nicolas). She was married on July 22, 2006 to Ricky J. Thompson who has preceded her in death.

She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 26, 1950 to John and Shirley Dunn and had one brother, Kevin Dunn. She graduated in 1967 from the American High School in Tehran, Iran, Indiana University in 1971, and later received a masters in Education Technology. She worked many places, yet her true love was being a Teacher in District 11. She had a passion for teaching, trivia, and reading (although her true passion in life was correcting others' grammar!). For those who knew her well, you'll join us in laughing. She would want us to laugh instead of cry.

She traveled the world early as a member of a dedicated military family, allowing her to dedicate all her time later in life to her family. She loved being a soccer mom and proud to be a military mom!

We will remember her as a loving grandmother, mother, wife, and friend.

To contact the family, please reach out to her son Mark, [email protected]. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the MS society of Southern Colorado https://msasoco.org/ways-you-can-help/.
