James "Jim" Ronald Glaskin passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, Arizona on June 16th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Jim fought a brave 5 year battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS).
Jim was born on August 9, 1946, to J. Birch (Bert) Glaskin Jr. and Maxine L. Glaskin. He grew up with one sister, Karen, near Patty Jewett Golf Course which began his lifetime love of golf. Jim graduated from Palmer High School in 1964 and married Judy Jones of Colorado Springs in 1968. Jim and Judy had two daughters together, Nikki and Shelley, and raised them in Colorado Springs where they made many wonderful memories together throughout the years.
In 1967, Jim started a career as a management trainee at First Federal Savings and Loan and climbed the company ladder to become President and Chief Executive Officer in 1981. In 1984, Jim was elected Chairman of the Savings and Loan League of Colorado. For many years, Jim was a member and President of the Colorado Springs Country Club and The Sertoma Club. Other passions included memberships at The El Paso Club, The Broadmoor Golf Club, First Presbyterian Church and he sat on the board at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Jim took pride in his involvement in the Colorado Springs community where he enjoyed bowling, playing racquetball, and golfing with many friends. As a passionate supporter of sports, Jim attended many Denver Broncos football games.
Later in life, Jim married Priscilla Evans and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. Together they enjoyed riding their motorcycles, traveling, spending time with family, and spoiling their beloved dogs. Jim continued his career as a commercial broker and spent many years caring for Priscilla, who battled breast cancer and passed away in 2012.
Jim spent many hours fishing in Colorado and reading by his pool at Legend Trail. Besides his love of golf, Jim cared deeply for his many dogs his entire life. In his final months his special dog, Muffin, laid by his side until his final breath.
Jim cherished his family. He is survived by sister, Karen (Clive) Grant of Scottsdale; daughter, Nikki (Dan) George of San Francisco; daughter, Shelley (Bob) Fitzgerald of Scottsdale; and stepson Sean Evans of Wilmington, NC. Jim was a proud grandfather, lovingly known as Papa, and deeply loved by Luke, Avery, & Chloe George and Kate, Connor, & Carter Fitzgerald. He is predeceased by his parents, J Birch and Maxine Glaskin, and his wife, Priscilla Glaskin. He will be missed greatly by friends and family.
A celebration of life will take place in Scottsdale, Arizona at a later date.
The family invites you to honor Jim's memory through a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation Society (LLS) at bloodcancerunited.org.

Yesterday

This sad news. My heartfelt condolences go to Jim's family, his sister, Karen and all of his many friends. Jim and I were best friends from when we met in kindergarten until we graduated from high school. We lived two houses apart on north Prospect Street in Colorado Springs. We did everything together, including YAL sports teams, movies, paper routes, golf ball collecting and reselling, the YMCA, back yard camping and many other exciting adventures. It was a very special, joyous time for both of us. I am deeply saddened that Jim is gone.
