I sure remember Beno. My mother Betty Swann (Cleek) worked for the lumber yard for many years. Beno sponsored me to go on an Outward Bound adventure when I was 16 years old. I'll never forget that trip or Beno. I know my mother thought the world of him and his brother. I'm glad for the rememberance!

Dear Prue,

I was not aware of Beno's passing until Wednesday evening.

Beno was the finest person I ever delt with. I have so many great memories of him. (Jamica).

I am so very sorry I missed the memorial services.

Sincerely, Bob

It was during the Nixon Administration. It was on the very last overnight midwinter camp out of the Subtract-a-Man Club atop Vail Mountain that I first heard mention the name Beno Walker, and watched him warming his hands over the campfire. I'd just moved to Colorado from the East and it was Beno who guided me through the Vail snows in the many ski days that followed. And then he introduced my Anne and me to Pooey, Hunt & Lisa, and for the next thirty six years helped us and our kids make Colorado Springs our home. His was a quiet wisdom, and he will be missed. I wish I'd known Beno when we were in our teens. He would have made a heck of a Democrat.

I am so glad to have known Beno Walker (for most of my life). My mother worked for him for 28 years and I have nothing but good memories of him. I was happy to see him at the Fine Arts Center during the Chihully Show and introduce him and his wife to my wife. He had sent me to "Outdoor Life" when I was 16 years old and I have never forgotten that. My sincere condolences to all the family. I'm sure he will be missed. I know I'm sorry I will never get a chance to talk with him again. He ment the world to my mother and my family. God Bless. Spencer Swann
