Jean McPherson Obituary

Jean Kathryn McPherson (Sanderson), age 75, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at her home in Colorado Springs.

Jean was an amazing wife, a wonderful mother to her sons and was a true "Neighborhood Mom." She was also a devoted grandmother to her 4 grandchildren, she was a steadfast and loving sister, and friend to many other people in her circle of acquaintances.

Jean Kathryn McPherson was born on April 17, 1941 in Colorado Springs to her Mother Aileen and her father Hilding (Sandy) Sanderson, both deceased.

Growing up in the Springs she attended various District 11 schools graduating in 1959 in the last class to go through the Colorado Springs High School – now Palmer High School. She then attended the Colorado State College – now the University of Northern Colorado – where she earned a degree in Education. Jean then returned to Colorado Springs and taught for several years in District 11 schools.

She married Charles Buchanan McPherson in October, 1963 in Colorado Springs. They then made their home in Colorado Springs and were involved in many sectors of the local scene.

Jean is survived by her husband, Charles McPherson, her son Shawn McPherson in Colorado Springs, her son Kevin McPherson in Woodland Park and her beloved grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held in the spring of 2017, for her with the date and location to be determined.
