John Falton Obituary

On May 24, 2014 we lost a husband, father, grandpap, father-in-law, and friend.

John was a devoted husband of 42 years to Christine, a loving father to John and Simone, a grandpap to Breanna, Aiden, Alexys, Nadia, Tyle and Whitney, a father-in-law to Chris and Beth, and companion to his beloved dogs.

John was a soldier for 21 years in the Army, an Airborne Ranger at heart to the end and a dedicated police officer. We will miss having him in our lives but rest in knowing he left this world a better place. He enriched the lives of others through his kindness and presence.

John loved to fish, was an avid dog walker, he loved camping, story telling, friendships, hunting, target shooting, brewing fine beer, and creating things for his home and family. He always took the time to play with his grandchildren, shake the hand of a fellow veteran, and would never turn down a cup of coffee served with dessert, chocolate always being his preference. He was the fixer of broken things. He enjoyed the good things in life no matter how big or small, he had the ability to find the silver lining in all that he encountered. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Our Lady of the Woods RC Church, 116 S. West Street, Woodland Park, CO.

Arrangements: Mountain Memorial Funeral Home, Divide, CO.

May you have peace in knowing that John's reward is great. Our reward is having been blessed with him in our lives, even if for a short time. He was a shining example of all that is good and kind in this world and his legacy lives on through his beautiful family. We love you all and wish you peace during this trying time.

Now...in true John Falton style...let's all hoist a beer and toast to a life well-lived and well-loved.

Ah man, sorry to see this news. I worked with "Big John" when I was a wet-behind-the-ears newbie Teller County prosecutor. He helped show me the lay of the land. Thanks Big John and peace to your loved ones.
