John Van Anrooy Obituary

John Albert Van Anrooy, 89, of Woodland Park passed away on Thursday September 10, 2015 in Colorado Springs. John passed peacefully in the presence of his family and pastors.

John was born in Colorado Springs on Tuesday, May 18, 1926 to the late Henry and Lula Belle Van Anrooy. John was raised in Grand Haven, Michigan, and after serving in the Army during World War II he attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan. He then received his Bachelor's degree in Administrative Engineering from the University of Denver.

John pursued a lengthy career in Engineering in Colorado, Texas and Michigan. His career was highlighted by numerous inventions and improvements.John and Margaret raised their 4 daughters in Michigan. Upon retirement he returned to Colorado to his home in Woodland Park. John was active in their neighborhood, church and Volunteer Fire Department.

John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret De Valois Van Anrooy; his four daughters, Karen, Janice, Sara and Mary Van Anrooy; his seven grandchildren, Danielle Money, Kayli Money Meyers, Luke Arlow, Lauren Arlow, Eric Money, Christopher Van Anrooy Wilson and Carey Ruzicka; one great granddaughter, Raelan Paige Meyers; and by his beloved dog, Margo.

Burial took place in Colorado Springs on Monday September 14, 2015. A life celebration service will be held at a later date to be announced in Woodland Park, CO.
