Joyce Viola Harrison, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on February 12, 1937, to Beverly Love Shelton and William George Norford, and was the eldest of five children. Joyce dedicated 47 years of Civilian Service as an office administrator. She was known for her professionalism, kindness, and devotion to excellence. Outside of work, she expressed her creativity and compassion by crocheting afghans for those who were terminally ill, offering comfort and warmth freely. She also loved music, especially classical, gospel, and jazz, and participated in several choirs over the years. Joyce is survived by her daughters Andrea Jones and Crystal Meyer (Richard Meyer), six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, with one more great-grandchild expected to arrive in September 2026. She was preceded in death by her daughter Janeen Harrisonin December 1978. Visitation will be held on April 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at EvergreenFuneral Home, 1830 E.Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A second viewing will be held on April 23, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at True Spirit Baptist Church, 5120 Astrozon Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80916, followed by a Celebration of Life Ceremony from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Burial will follow on April 23, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A Repass Fellowship will conclude the day from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at True Spirit Baptist Church. Joyce's legacy of compassion, music, and generosity will live on through all who loved her.
