Krista Lynn Casey, 59, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on December 26, 2021. She was born on July 6, 1962 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to Col. Thomas C. Casey and Jane M. Casey. She graduated from South High School in Denver and attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango. She worked for the state of Colorado for twelve years, moved to Iowa with her family and worked a variety of labor and service jobs there until 2011, when she made the decision to make her way home to Colorado Springs where she served as an in-home caregiver for 8 years.
Krista found joy in spending time with her two daughters, taking photographs, baking for others, bowling, being outdoors, raising her dogs and was passionate about working with horses. Krista was a faithful follower of Jesus and trusted him completely.
Krista has been preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her daughters, Jesse and Shalee Hanson, her ex-husband Keith Hanson, her siblings, Tom Casey, John(Deb) Casey, Dan(Nita) Casey, Sally(Carl) Lansing, Jane(Neil) Winterton, her nieces and nephews and her grand-pups, Ripley and Sunny.
A celebration of Krista's life will be held at Harvest Downtown, 411 N. Weber St. in Colorado Springs at 3 p.m. on Sunday – all are welcome to attend, bright colors are encouraged.
