Lana Jukes Obituary

Lana Marie Jukes (Granger), 60, passed away May 15, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado with her family by her side.

Lana was born March 22, 1954 to Howard and Joyce Granger in Argentina, Newfoundland. Lana graduated from Frankfurt American High School in 1972 in Frankfurt, Germany and received a Certificate of Completion as a Dental Assistant from El Paso Community College in 1974.

Lana was married to Carl Jukes on February 12, 1998 and lived in Colorado Springs. Lana was a Work Order Administrator for Balfour Beatty Communities at Fort Carson. During that time met and developed lifelong friendships with many of her co-workers. Lana will be remembered for her enormous heart, her dedication and loyalty for caring for others. She held a special place in her heart for supporting soldiers and their families.

Lana truly loved spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished the time spent with her daughters and grandchildren. Her interests included reading, traveling and spending time with her dog Lily.

Lana is survived by her husband, Carl Jukes, daughters Jandi Thompson (Ziervogel), Brandi Payton (Ziervogel), step-daughters Allison Colderick (Jukes) and Bridgette Lewis (Jukes), step-son Matthew Jukes, grandchildren, Shay and Ty Thompson, Gatlin Payton, Tyler Jukes, brothers Howard Eldon Granger and Alan Granger and sister, Carol Robinson.

Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Joyce Granger.

A Celebration of Life for close friends and family will be held Thursday, June 12th, 2014 at 11:00 am at Garden of the Gods Club & Resort, 3320 Mesa R., Colorado Springs, 80904.
