Larry Shine Obituary

Larry Shine, age 68, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1984 and previously of Roselle, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the Pikes Peak Hospice Residence. He was retired after being the manager and owner of the Ben Franklin Craft Stores and the Art 'N Frames Stores in Colorado Springs. Larry D. Shine was born on January 15, 1937 in Adrian, Michigan to Woodrow and Mary Jane (Courter) Shine. He was a 1955 graduate of Lima Central High School in Lima, Ohio and a 1960 graduate of Bowling Green University. He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He married Sandra Sue Niles on March 3, 1962 in Belleville, New Jersey. Larry was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; a son, Craig (wife, Stephanie) Shine of Centennial, Colorado; and two daughters: Tracey (husband, Scott) Barclay of Dallas, Texas and Audra Shine of Denver, Colorado. Also surviving is his sister, Sharon (husband, Robert) Pfeifer of Ormand Beach, Florida and two grandsons: Chase and Cole Barclay. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. He will be remembered at the Shrine of Remembrance Veterans Honor Court. Memorials in Larry's name may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903 or to the American Cancer Society, 1445 North Union Boulevard, Suite B100, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
