Leroy Padgett Obituary

Leroy "Lee" Padgett
April 3, 2025

Leroy "Lee" Padgett, 93, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025.
Born in Kentucky, Lee was a proud veteran who served in both the U.S. Army during the Korean War and the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years. While stationed in Texas, he met the love of his life, Faye, at a local burger joint. They were married for 69 years.
Lee and Faye raised three children—Diane, Donna, and Michael—while moving wherever the Air Force sent them. Lee served in Vietnam as a war photographer and later continued his service as a civil servant in Colorado Springs.
Not one to sit still, Lee kept busy by restoring a 1931 Ford Model A, playing ping pong and tennis, and spending countless hours working on the family cabin. He was a deacon at First Southern Baptist Church, a member of the Colorado Springs Model A Club, and a life-long Mason.
Lee is survived by his wife, Faye; children Diane (Mark), Donna (Lonnie), and Michael (Lori); six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and siblings Nelson, Everett, Robert and Marsha. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millie and Marshall, and brothers Roger Dale and William.
He will be remembered for his patriotism, humor, deep faith, and bone-crushing handshake. A memorial service will be held on April 12 at 10:30 am at Summit Glen Gracious Retirement Living.

Our condolences for the family of Mr. Padgett. It was a pleasure the couple of time we meet. My husband and I enjoyed the moments talking about cars and the military. May you Rest In Peace. From the López Family.

Uncle Lee, I will always fondly remember our visit to Colorado and going to the mountain cabin with you, Nelson and my dad six years ago. My best memory, was these three brother´s, all in their 80´s, trying to pull a bumper off a truck with a chain. It was quite hilarious to watch! Thank you for buying us lunch that day! Rest in peace sweet uncle. You will be missed!
Love, Shannon

Loved Leroy more like a brother to me than a brother-in-law. I loved him very much as all my family did. My heart goes out to my sister Faye and the family.

I remember uncle Leroy showing me his antique car he was working on and eventually the finished product! He was a kind man a giant that tread lightly. I never heard a harsh word from him. When we belonged to the Colorado springs racket club, he always greeted us with a smile and a good word when he worked at their front desk. My wife remembers his kindness to her and of course his mustang convertible. We love you Uncle Leroy. We believe in the hope of everlasting life and will see you again someday.

So sorry for your loss, I got to know Lee after moving to the Satellite in 2014. It was always a bright spot in my day when I would meet him in the lobby or by the elevator, he always had a hug and a kind word.
