Lyle Townley, 90, of Colorado Springs entered into eternal life on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 peacefully surrounded by his family.
Lyle was born September 14, 1935 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs to Jesse and Mrytle Townley. He graduated in 1953 from Calhan High School and attended one year at Trinidad Junior College in 1954. He worked at a company called S and C Interprize also known as Durlite Block. In 1972 he started his business as Townley Trucking until October 1993 when he retire
He was an active member of the Colorado Springs Bowling Association bowling in tournaments and leagues with family members. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and water skiing.
He married the love of his life, Betty Whittlesey on January 2, 1955. He is survived by his wife Betty, 3 sons; Steve Townley (Patty), Lionel Townley (Rita), Brad Townley (Norma), 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren with one on the way.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Archie, and two sisters Eva Beaman, and Janice Moser.
Services will be held on October 16, 2025 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery 3825 Airport Road in Colorado Springs. Viewing will be at 10:00am, funeral at 11:00am, and burial at 12:30pm.
