Mary Langan Obituary

My beloved wife, Mary Langan passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, 12/2/14 at 12:15 pm. I was privileged to be at her side when she took her last breath. I know that her spirit/life force has gone on to the next stage in life. I miss her with all of my heart.

One of Mary's greatest loves was her knitting which gave her so much joy, not just in making things but in giving them away to her family and friends. Another of Mary's joys was motorcycle riding. She was an active member in the 12 step community and shared her experience, strength and hope with others. She was also a volunteer at Silver Key Senior Services, taking meals to home bound seniors and lately she was participating in helping other women who were suffering from the same form of cancer that finally took her life. Just recently, Mary found her spirituality studying and practicing Buddhist teachings at a local Sangha with a loving teacher.

Mary is survived by me, her loving husband, Fred Langan, her parents, Don and Marcia Paulus, her daughter Lindsey Kelly, her step son Evan Langan, her grandson Erick Thorpe, her brothers Tommy Paulus & John Paulus and many other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, Mary asked me to request that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and to the Pike's Peak Hospice Foundation (they were our support to the end).

There will be a Celebration of Life for Mary on Sunday 12/14/14 at the Oddfellows Hall, 575 S. Union Blvd. from 1 pm to 6 pm.

I was sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I didn't know her well but was in one of her knitting groups. She was always a breath of fresh air. I'll always remember her excitement when she learned how to do the I-cord bind off. I feel blessed to have known her for the short time. Blessings to your family as you transition to life with out her.

Dearest Mary,
You have no idea how much you made my brother's life shine. For that I will always be grateful. It will be hard to see Fred without you by his side. But you will be always there in spirit.
Till we meet again, rest peacefully.
