Nickolas Remmel, 84, of Colorado Springs, passed away on March 6, 2025. Nick dedicated his life to service, community, and family.
He began his career as a teacher in Fairplay, before serving 37 years with the Colorado's Job Service, where he assisted veterans, supported former inmates, and guided job seekers statewide.
A fixture in the community, Nick coached youth hockey for over 40 years and helped organize more than 100 parades and events. He was a devoted fan of Colorado College Tiger Hockey, famously attending every game for 50 years at one point. Nick enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, where he found tranquility.
He is survived by his son, daughters, grandchildren, siblings, and many who were touched by his spirit. He is remembered for his humility, generosity, and commitment to others.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Alternative Cremation, 2377 N Academy Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colorado College Hockey Program, Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, or a charity of your choice.

Nick was a part of my past at El Paso Community College, later PPCC. His role as student counselor and job corps representative helped and kept me teaching for many years. Sorry to find he had left us, he is in a better place now. Many were taught and went to work thanks to Nick's efforts. George, retired Electronics instructor PPCC

Was a pleasure to know Nick for almost 50 years, first as a coworker at Job Service, later as fellow CC Hockey fan in the 80's when the opposing fans outnumbered us by many, as a coach for my son's YAL summer hockey team, most recently as a fellow volunteer driver for the CS Adult Blind Assoc. His unique sense of humor and booming deep voice will be missed and fondly remembered.
