Paul Ducommun Obituary

Paul Edward Ducommun, 73 of Monument, Colorado, went to be with his Lord on December 16, 2009 after a brief battle with cancer. Paul was born in Sioux City, Iowa and moved to Colorado in 1963 to operate a tour company for his father. Paul founded Rocky Mountain Bus Sales and operated it for forty years before passing it on to his son and son-in-law. Paul was currently retired but remained active in the business. Paul is survived by his wife Shirley; and brother Dick; son Todd, daughter-in-law Julie, their children Brittany and Austin, and grandchild Annabelle; daughter Dawn and her children Gary, Kristine, Erin, and Erica; daughter Paula, son-in-law Dave, and their daughter Madelin; and numerous family members and close friends. Paul was preceded in death by his father Leslie, mother Frances, and brother Dennis. Paul loved his hobbies that included mining, hunting, coin collecting, and traveling. He cherished meeting regularly with his friends for coffee and especially loved his "pink" house. Paul will be remembered as a loving husband, great father, fun grandpa, as well as good friend. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., at Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church, 20256 Hunting Downs Way, Monument, Colorado. A private burial will take place at a later date. Donatios may be made to Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church, Memo Paul Ducommun.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and I'm so sorry for your loss.

December 23, 2009

I have known Paul for almost 15 years and have attened many different functions with him and his family. Paul was one of those rare people who you really don't know what kind of person he was until you sit and think about it. Now, i can say he was a a real persons person. He would give the shirt, jacket or whatever you needed off his back to help you. There are so many things to desribe Paul but to keep this somewhat short iwould just say this, Paul was and always will be as true a family man, friend, Brother, father and grand parent. He loved his family the way one should always. So i say to to the Family, thank you for allowing the Berkey family to be part of your lives and for us to get to know a very humble yet great man. Our hearts go out to you at this time. Know that your Angel is overhead looking down on you and keeping each of you safe. As they say, Paul may be gone from earth but he will never be forgotten in our hearts and thoughts. God Bless each of you.
