Reid Richard Strouss-Tallman passed away unexpectedly on July 11th, 2024 in his home in Thornton, Colorado. His family is heartbroken.
Reid was born on January 29th, 1990 to Janet Strouss and Rich Tallman in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He lived in Colorado his whole life, having the opportunity to live in and explore several cities along the front range.
Growing up, Reid was adventurous, feisty and curious. His curiosity persisted into adulthood where he continuously asked big questions and pondered existentialism. His brilliance and ingenuity shined through in his "DIY" nature. Reid was self-taught in mechanics, 3D printing and just about anything he set his mind to, though usually doing things by his own book. He excelled at golf and skiing, always seeking out hobbies that were less than easy. Those who knew him treasured the sound of his infectious and sometimes maniacal laugh.
Reid was a complex person and struggled with mental health challenges the majority of his life, making his day-to-day very difficult. He found solace and peace when traveling-especially to white sand beaches-listening to music and attending festivals, and most of all, while spending time with his daughter Marly. Reid's kindness was unmatched. He was a fiercely loyal friend and extremely generous to loved ones and those in need.
Reid is survived by his mother Janet, father Rich, sisters Clare and Janie, his daughter Marly and his beloved cat Cali. He will be missed.
Gifts in memory of Reid may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Colorado Springs, where a special education fund devoted to co-occurring disorders will be established in his name. Dear Cousin Richard, Janet, Clare, Janie, and Marly,

I am deeply sorry and broken-hearted for your loss. Reid was a loving, son, brother, father, nephew as well as cousin. Just as a tree needs multiple nutrients to grow, Reid grew to be the loving and caring soul that he was because of the love he received throughout his life from his parents, sisters, uncles, and especially his daughter. He will be forever missed, and loved.

Dear Rich, Janet, Clare, Janie, and Marley,
Our hearts ache for you and our own loss. Reid was so curious, easy going, generous and thoughtful. He shared some of his future hopes with us and was fighting so hard to overcome the obstacles that were in the way. Despite his own daily struggles he consistently helped others who were also struggling. We are devastated at the loss of him so young. You are an amazing family and he knew he had your support and love. Janet and Rich you gave so much love and support to Reid and deserve so much honor and respect for how well you have loved him. Reid will not be forgotten and we will always feel his loss, but hold the memories of his inquisitive mind and perseverance through the many challenges he endured. We are so sorry Clare and Janie for the loss of your brother. Marly we hope you know you are loved and we are so sad for you, but love the way you reflect some of the most joyous and creative parts of your dad. Much, much love to you all.

I will never forget the instant bond he and Gregory shared while we were in England. His infectious smile and the pain so vivid on his face at his Grandfather´s funeral. I stroked his face I will never forget him and his valiant fight against the horrible illness too many of us struggle with. Good night God Bless you my sweet Reid.
