Richard was the only love of my life; I was his first wife. No one could take his place. He lived large and I guess he was not ready for family life then. He kept in contact until I adopted a special child in 1989. I am so, so glad that he finally found his great love and a family he could totally embrace. I wish he and his wife could have grown old together. I am glad that he remained faithful to the things he loved and the way he wanted to live. I hope to see him in heaven. (I don't expect anyone to read this. It's been almost 9 years since Richard passed and I only found his obituary recently. I needed to say how much I loved him, have missed him, but always wanted him to be happy and blessed. Reading the other entries, it appears that he was.)

I stopped by Laughs on Friday to say Hi to Lila, Larry & the gang and heard the news. I am so broken hearted for you and your family. I can not even begin to express my thoughts for you all. Please know that you are truely loved and supported by many. My dear Scott would get the biggest kick out of the banter between Richard, Mike and Larry. Dear Amy and family,

Richard had the most beautiful voice and exquisite manners. He was honest, efficient, and caring. As the new kid on the block with MBCA this year, Richard and the entire staff of the NBO have taken their time to help me and give me the suuport I needed.

He gave from his heart and touched the lives of everyone he met in a very positive and lasting way. My condolences to his family and friends.

Richard Simonds, Past National President

Richard was a part of the MBCA National Office "family." He had creative ideas for the Club Store and always went out of his way to help club members. His presence is already missed by the MBCA staff. Our warmest wishes go to his wife, Amy, and their family.

Donald Leap, MBCA Past National President

August 27, 2006

When I would telephone the National Business from 'out West,' Richard was usually the one to answer. His voice was always cheerful and confident. He imparted in his audio manner a quality that reflected so well on the Club, its purpose, and his responsibilities. Our Club's members will miss him dearly.

But Richard was so much more than a 'staffer' at the NBO, and so it is in that light that our thoughts remain with his family throughout these difficult times.
