Richard Charles Lambert was born September 10, 1929, in Weathersfield, Vermont, to Orin Phillip Lambert and Louise Hebert Lambert. He was the youngest of six children; Albert, Rita, Anne, Eva, Don and Richard "Dick".

Richard, whose family called him "Richie" but most called him "Dick," attended a country school through the eighth-grade with 15 other students. Although Dick did not graduate from high school, later he would proudly say, he passed his GED, "with flying colors."

As a child of the Depression era, Dick became a fast learner and quickly developed his entrepreneurial skills, which he would later use to become a successful businessman, as well as a great teacher/mentor to many. Dick learned early, the value of hard work and use of common sense, while raised on the family dairy farm, then working a logging business with his father and brothers.

In 1947, Dick enlisted in the United States Air Force and traveled the world, serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Dick studied engineering while serving, building and rehabilitating landing strips in foreign countries. Dick married Beverly White and to this union Debra Ann was born. Dick ended his 20-year military career, at NORAD in Colorado Springs, as an expert in snow removal in 1967.

Dick remained in Colorado Springs and the same year, married Joan Renck, who brought three young children into the marriage, which Dick loved and raised as his own.

Dick was a visionary businessman, creating and developing several business success stories including, the "Hitchrack Riding Stables," the first-ever commercial manager of Penrose Stadium, offering rodeos, concerts, boarding and a riding facility, then starting Lambert & Sons Construction with his two sons, in the 1980's, which continues to this day with sons Wade and Scott Renck at the helm.

During the riding stable years, he would find ways to do all the things he loved. He rebuilt wagons, stagecoaches, and found many ways to utilize the horses to keep the family supported. Dick loved belgian horses, driving buggies and wagons in parades, hauling the endless array of barn kids to gymkhana's all the while, teaching skiing during the winter months. He was a Rocky Mountain Certified Ski Instructor and assistant director of the ski school at Ski Broadmoor.

Member of masons serving Past Master of the Cripple Creek Lodge #96, and Commander of Pikes Peak Commandery Knights Templar. He was inducted as a Pikes Peak Range Rider in 1974.

It was a wonderful hard-working life, Dick created for his family and the variety of children who would do whatever it took to be at the barn, in the company of horses.

Dick loved so many things and was always ready to learn a new skill set, whether it was shooting skeet, skiing, golf, roping or the endless array of activities. Dick could break-down any sport, then teach the skill, benefiting the next generation.

Dick was proceeded in his death by the love of his life Joan, his parents, and siblings. He is survived by his children Debra Burnett, Wade (Stormy) Renck, Wendy (Bobby) Gutierrez and Scott (Tami) Renck, and grandchildren Garrett (Rikilynn) Kiser, Fallonn (Jeffrey) Braaten, Kimberly (Brad) Korkowski, Bailey (Tori Doven) Renck ,Haylee (Blake) Snyder. Great Grandchildren Cole Kiser Stutzman, Deegan Kiser, Shayn Kiser, Rylin Braaten, Cooper Braaten, Onalise Braaten, Rowan Korkowski, Brookelynn Snyder, and Braylon Snyder.

His life was greatly enhanced by his friends and care givers Tammy and Rene and Nancy, all will genuinely miss his amazing sense of humor and endless life stories.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I first met Dick in the military at Cheyenne Mountain and we have been great friends ever since and that was 55 years ago. When I was in Colorado we done some great things together and also with Joan and the family. He sure will be missed by all of us, but memories we will not forget. Lynn Mietz
