Robert Carvell Obituary

Robert Carvell passed away Sunday June 11, 2006. He was born February 9, 1936 in Estes Park, CO to Don and Mabel Carvell. As a child Robert lived in Estes Park, Van Nuys, CA and Caliente, NV. After graduating from high school in Estes Park, Robert attended the University of Colorado. He received his law degree from CU in 1960. While attending CU, Robert was a member of the ski team. Robert moved to Colorado Springs when he accepted a position as deputy District Attorney. He later went into private practice. Robert was an excellent trial lawyer and he enjoyed the challenge of the courtroom. He retired from his practice in 1998. Robert truly was a man for all of Colorado's seasons. He enjoyed bird and big game hunting, was a superb skier and spent his summers backpacking, camping and fishing. He was also a competitive trap shooter and amateur photographer. After he retired Robert began an in-depth study of the war in the Pacific during World War II. Robert is survived by his wife Michele, his son Eric and daughter-in-law Soan and his grandchildren: Bianca, Donny and Christina. He was preceded in death by his son Jeff. His extended family includes "the sisters": Lisa Kennedy and Candy Deutsch; his brothers-in-law Kelly Kennedy and Dan Deutsch and his nieces and nephews. His wit and wisdom will be missed by his family and friends. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at the Carvell home on Sunday June 18, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Donations in Robert's memory can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903-3624.

We all loved Robert. We enjoyed his humor and were wowed by his vast knowledge of "things Colorado." We'll miss him.
