Roger Gallion Memoriam

"THE DASH" If you think about it, the sum of our lives is simply what we did or did not do during "The Dash." The birth date only means the day that God put you here. The death date only means the day God took you home. The time in between is "The Dash." Roger spent his dash in every way possible that made it fun. He loved life and was happy to include all for the ride. As a 30 year Alaskan, he was afforded opportunities not many of us get, a successful career in aviation, the love and respect of nature and the love and respect of his children, his friends and family. Roger knew himself and if you wanted to be with him, you had to be ready for fun. When the workweek was over, the fun began. Summer meant 19 hours of daylight to fish, boat, ski, fly kites, camp, hike, bird watch, paddle boat regattas for all the kids, and relaxing. Winter was the other fun, snow machining, camping, snowshoe softball, Big Lake, fireworks, teaching the kids to snow machine in the dark, and of course, the bird watching and relaxing. Everyone was welcome and everyone who came to the cabin was warmed and taught to smoke cigars! His love of life and quest for fun never ended, he loved his Volkswagens and his Honda. Roger is missed by all whose lives he touched. He enjoyed the company of close friends and he cherished the time he spent with his children, Jason, Jennifer, C.W. and Aurora. Aurora's love for him inspired her to name her first child Roger William Snivley. Little Roger is now 5 years old and big brother to 2-year-old Alice Ann. I know that he is happy and has been reunited with his dad Paul, his mum Audrey and his son Jason Lee Ellsworth and all his animals. I was blessed to have been his partner for 13 years and his wife for 17 days. Love You I Do, Miss You I Will, Lisa Lou
