Ruth Coats Obituary

Ruth E. Coates, 94 passed away on August 20, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Co. Ruth was born on May 6, 1917 in Liberty, MO to W.A. and Alberta (Parker) Crum. Ruth was retired from Civil Service at Fort Carson Hospital. She was a Charter Member of First Southern Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and musical groups. She also taught Sunday school to 3 yrs olds for many years. In later years she attended Faith Christian Fellowship, New Life and Spring Harvest. Preceding Ruth in death are her parents; W.A. and Alberta (Parker) Crum, Husband; John B. Coates who died in 1981, her twin sister Minnie Irminger, brothers; Forrest Crum, Virgil Crum, Marvin Crum. Ruth is survived by her children; John A. (Vicki) Coates of Cypress, TX; Mary R. (John) Walker of Bethany, LA; Frankie (Jerry) Renk of Colorado Springs. Brother; Frank Crum of Liberty, MO; 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Ruth's father was a Southern Baptist Evangelist and Pastor in MO. Ruth and her twin sister, Minnie sang for many of his services. Her greatest joy was singing, serving the Lord and interceding for her loved ones. She has been waiting many years for this great celebration. Private family service to be held. Memorial donations may be made to her grandson's ministry in Kenya, Coates Ministry, P.O. Box 26, West Bend, IA 50597-0026.
