Ryan Perry Obituary

Ryan Preston Perry
September 3, 1986
December 31, 2023

Ryan Preston Perry departed this world on Dec 31, 2023. He leaves behind his wife (Anna) and daughters Catie (6) and Claire (5). He is also survived by his loving parents, Carmel Perry and Cate Perry, his sister, Alison Perry (Frank Gaughan), and brother, Ian Perry (Jessica Gray), as well as a niece, Nora Jane. He is preceded in death by the millions of Americans who have similarly struggled with and succumbed to opioid addiction.
He was born September 3, 1986 in Colorado Springs and lived in St. Paul, Prescott, and Kansas City before moving home during the Covid epidemic. Ryan had a gift for retaining minutia about sports and popular culture. He loved quoting The Wire, The Sopranos, and all variety of hip-hop lyrics. If called upon, he could list decades of Heisman trophy winners and always had very informed opinions about many topics, ranging from sports to streetwear.
Being a Dad and husband brought out the best in Ryan. He was a great and loving father. The most significant joy in his life was being a husband to Anna and a Dad to Claire and Catie. He loved his mother, who never stopped fighting for him, deeply.
A celebration of Ryan's life will be held in Colorado Springs at Springs Wings, 6504 S. Academy 80906 on Monday, Jan 8 between 3 and 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Never Use Alone hotline at https://prevented.org/take-action/donate/.

Cate, I have a card from the time Ryan passed for you but don't have contact info. I was devastated to hear of his passing and how many people will be affected by his loss, especially you, his devoted mom. You shared so many great stories of all your kids and I enjoyed them all! I am glad I knew Ryan through your eyes. Love to you. Debbie

To Ryan´s wife, children, and parents, I am so, so sorry. This breaks my heart to read about and shocks me. Ryan often looked out for me in junior high and high school, and always offered kind words whenever we´d have the pleasure of running into each other in the years after. He is missed dearly by so many.
