Colorado Springs --- On Saturday, February 11, Sharon Patterson, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 80.
Sharon, originally from Springfield, Illinois, moved to Colorado Springs in the early 1960s. Here she raised three daughters with her former husband, Bob Patterson. She was an employee of Current, Incorporated for several years. She was grounded by her faith and a part of the Christian community of Colorado Springs. She was truly generous and her heart was constantly moved toward the encouragement and support of single mothers.
Sharon is predeceased by her parents, William and Dorothy Blackburn, and nephew, Bradley. She is survived by her sister, Sandy, brother, Randy, her three daughters, Dawn (Paul), Pam (Mike), and Bobbi (Mark), four grandchildren, David (Sara), Stephen, Kelsey and Trent, and two great-grandchildren, Emory and Theo, and nieces, Tammy (Doug) and Lacee.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
Donations made in lieu of flowers will be used to honor Sharon's favorite organization, Mary's Home, a program serving single mothers and their children. To donate online please visit

I can´t believe it´s been a year already. I still reach out to call you to ask questions about things or for prayers. You always were great at praying and pep talks. I love you and miss you terribly. But I count on being together someday.

Mom, I miss you. I miss your hugs. I miss your laughter and talking about movies. I miss eating out and shopping all day. I miss special occasions. You always made them wonderful. I wish all these could happen again. But I have then all in my heart. I organized my pictures recently. So many funny and wonderful memories. And I see your love all over my home. Pieces of you. Mom, I shopped at the Garden of the Gods Trading Post yesterday and received a coupon to the cafe for my next visit. I promptly put it in my purse thinking we could stop for tea on the patio! I will always associate the Trading Post with you. Someday WE can return. Love you.
