Skye M. Stevens
1956 - 2018
Skye M. Stevens, 61, passed away on January 17, 2018 at Memorial Hospital North in Colorado Springs. Skye was born in Omaha, NE on April 15, 1956, the daughter of Dr. Wayne E. Stevens and Kay M. Sanders (Deveny).
Skye graduated from Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, CO and earned her Veterinary Technology degree from Colorado Mountain College, Glenwood Springs, CO. While raising her family, she returned to college to obtain her CPA degree from Regis College. She was an accomplished business woman and successfully operated a veterinary clinic with her husband Dr. Bruce Cottrell and later co-founded Homeward Bound Pet Memorial Center. She was devoted to caring for people and animals.
Skye is survived by her brothers and sister, Wayne Stevens II (Steve), Kirk Sanders, and Danielle Hosler (Stevens); her children, Dakota (Kody) Cottrell, and Tucker Cottrell; step-children, Denise Cottrell (Boston), Debbie Cottrell, Michael Cottrell and David Cottrell; grandchildren, Brandi May, and Dustin Boston; and her great-grandchildren, Hollyann May, Michelle May, Kaitlin May and Dustin Boston, Jr.
Her husband, Merton Bruce Cottrell preceded her in death in 2016.
A memorial service is planned at Cappadona Funeral Home on February 10th, 2018, with a reception to follow, location to be announced.

So sorry to hear of the loss of a wonderful Lady. Her work with animals speaks tribute to an incredible heart and soul. HWB was there for so many and such a wonderful service she is certainly in the arms of the Lord and welcomed by many wagging tales.
