Susan Abrams Obituary

Abrams
SUSAN C. ABRAMS
March 31, 1945 December 17, 2018
Susan Abrams, 73, of Manitou Springs passed away peacefully at Pikes Peak Hospice. She opened Paralegal Services in Colorado Springs in 1987 and also worked with her friend, Tom Duchen, of River Oaks Cable Corp. for many years.
Also known to her family as "Woo-Woo." "Mumington" and "Grammington" her heart was as big as her contagious roaring laugh.
Susan was raised in New Castle, Indiana where she graduated high school in 1963. She also attended Indiana University then relocated to Colorado Springs in 1978 with her two children.
Susan is survived by her son Christopher (Kathryn), grandchildren Kristen Cercone and Michael Cercone, sister Sally Swoveland, neice Abby Swoveland and grandniece Perrin Swoveland. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lana Cercone, and son-in-law, Frank Cercone. She will also be missed by her pet family, Max the Pomeranian, Jonah the Cat and Golden Doodle Grand dog, Weasley.
She had a passion for helping people, especially the underdog, and wanted everyone to feel important and have a voice. And what a voice she had when at the movies she loudly offered advice to characters on screen that were in peril.
She adored playing golf (badly) and shopping (expertly). Making contact with the ball brought the same broad smile to her face as finding a Gucci at a thrift store.
Kindness, honor, integrety and trust were words Susan lived by. She saw the world through rose colored glasses and what a beautiful view it was. We were so fortunate to have had her share that perspective with us, because it often came when we needed it the most.
Her family looks forward to keeping her loving, warm and joyful spirit in their lives.
Susan's memorial service will be held Sunday, January 13th, 2019, 2:00pm at Community Congregational Church of Manitou Springs, 103 Pawnee Ave.

Susan was a joy and oasis in the dessert for me. I knew Susan for 12 years and enjoyed her visits to the chiropractor where I worked. She talked of her son often. She encouraged me strongly to petition the court to obtain more child support. She was a dear dear lady whom I'm sorry she left this earth so soon. May she rest in peace in heaven and may her family be comforted knowing all the lives she reached out to and touched in positive ways.
