TAFT NELSON GEARHART
September 17, 1989 - September 25, 2021
Taft Nelson Gearhart, 32, an attorney and resident of Woodland Park, Colorado, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
Taft is survived by his parents; his siblings and their spouses, Tamzen and Lee Fleming, Tommy and Jolene Gearhart, Tristan and Christy Gearhart, Tyler and Amanda Gearhart, Tatum and Jason Keith, Teague and Jakelle Gearhart, and Tenille and Lawrence Tolman; and his grandmother, Glyda Gearhart.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Jim and Shirley Nelson and his paternal grandfather, Tom Gearhart, Sr.
Taft was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Sunday, September 17, 1989, to Thom and Teresa Gearhart. He attended D11 schools graduating from Mitchell High School in 2008. He served a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2008-2010, in Lithuania. Taft graduated from Brigham Young University on April 25, 2013, with a degree in Philosophy. After undergrad he furthered his education earning a Master's in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University on August 1, 2015, and a Juris Doctorate from Emory University on May 9, 2016. He was a member of the Colorado State Bar Association. Additionally, Taft carried series 6 and 65 securities licenses. He worked in both Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, advising clients on personal, business, and trust matters.
Taft enjoyed languages, and was fluent in Lithuanian, and conversational in Russian, German, and Japanese. He was an avid reader, dedicated sports fan and a big movie buff. He was always ready for a debate or an interesting conversation. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make friends and family laugh. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A viewing service will be held at Gorman Funeral Home - Platte Chapel in Wheatland, Wyoming on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 10:00 A.M., followed by a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Wyoming.

I am so very sorry to hear of Taft's sudden passing. There is no doubt that your hearts are heavy, to say the least. Just want you to know that I care as I have always thought so much of your family. Wishing moments of peace and calm as you navigate the road ahead. Much love!
