In Loving Memory of Tom Linder (1943-2023)
Tom Linder, a legend, teacher, coach, and devoted Christian, passed away on June 12, 2023, leaving a lasting impact on our lives. Born on April 18, 1943, to Lloyd and Shirley Linder, Tom excelled in athletics and teaching. His love story with Vickie began in a wrestling room, leading to 57 years of unwavering support and devotion in marriage.
Tom dedicated himself to educating and coaching Jr. High School students, profoundly impacting their lives. His quick wit and legendary skits brought laughter to many, while his compassionate heart created a safe space for high-risk students.
In retirement, Tom developed a passion for golf and enjoyed the camaraderie of his golfing buddies and bible study group. He had a unique approach to teaching his grandchildren, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. Tom's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, including his beloved wife Vickie, son Dain, daughter-in-law Jenifer, and grandsons Hunter, Coy, and Logan.
Tom will forever be remembered as a champion of laughter, a master of coaching, and a symbol of love. As we say goodbye, let us celebrate his shared memories and lessons, embracing life's challenges with strength and humor. Please honor his memory by sharing a joke, performing a random act of kindness, or finding joy in laughter. Tom Linder, our hero, may you rest in peace.
Services will be Thursday, June 29th, at 11:00 am
Academy Christian Church
1655 Montezuma Rd. Colorado Springs, CO 80920
There will be a reception at the church to follow the service.
With love and fond memories,
Vickie, Dain, Jenifer, Hunter, Coy, and Logan Linder

Think of you every time i send my boys onto the mat. You always knew exactly what to say and I only wish I could find half the words. Furious at myself for waiting too long to reconnect... will keep my ear out for you.."Pleeple!" ;)

Love you Coach.

I had the pleasure of teaching with Tom for seven years at Irving Junior High, 1970-77. He was a gentleman, an outstanding coach, and a scholar. We shall all miss him.

Coach Linder was a giant among the figures of Irving Junior High staff. Our children recall his gentleness and calm leadership.

50 years after wrestling for Tom, I often think of the incredibly positive effect he had on me then (and to this day). I remember winning the Jr. High City Championship in 1973 at Irving. He is one of those coaches/teachers that come around once in a lifetime, I think of him often. My condolences to the family, what a great man.
