Virginia Lee Mazza, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away in Colorado Springs on November 13, 2022. She is now in Heaven with Jesus.

She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 15,1932. She moved to Chicago and met and married the love of her life, the late Jim Mazza. Together they had four children, Michael, his wife Michelle, Gregory, his wife Tracy, Patrick, his wife Suzanne and Susan, her husband Doug. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ginny was an Air Force wife for 30 years and lived in numerous countries and states including Germany, Florida, Alabama, Colorado, Thailand, and Virginia. She lived a remarkable 90 years and met late life challenges with the same kindness and grace she had displayed throughout her life.

Her service is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Jim Mazza at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado on Tuesday December 13th at 2:00 p.m.

She will be missed by all, but we are comforted by knowing that she is no longer suffering.

We loved Ginny. She was like another Grandmother to our son. She was always smiling and a gracious, beautiful person. We miss her but know she was needed in Heaven.

The RAO is staffed by volunteers, all military retirees themselves, and our sole purpose is to provide assistance to any military retirees and surviving spouses/family members with anything related to their military service and/or benefits, in particular during difficult times such as this.
