William J. Benedek passed away on December25th, 2024, at age 87. He was born in Budapest, Hungary to Margit Gizella Domotor and Janos F. Benedek. Bill was a man of great knowledge and wisdom. He enjoyed opera, classical and Latin music, chess, bridge, dancing and learning languages. He spoke Russian, Latvian, Spanish, Italian and Chinese. As a student in Hungary, He participated in the Hungarian Uprising against the Russians in 1956. The quota being full in the U.S. for his country, he settled in Canada. There he earned his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto allowing him to work in the international petrochemical field and travel to 21 countries. He is survived by his wife Catherine and stepchildren Cathy Valdez, Mary Montalvo, and Fred Valdez. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. he leaves no living relatives. It was his wish that there be no services
