William Knupp Obituary

Gone, but never forgotten our Dad, Old-fart and Papa. William H. "Bill" Knupp passed away on July 12, 2010 in his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on December 19, 1929 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Bill was preceded in death by his mother Margaret V. Knupp; first wife, Joan Buckley Knupp. He is survived by a loving family; wife, Terry Webster Knupp; Robert and Lani Knupp from Hawaii; Keith and Linda Knupp from Virginia; Susan and Doug Riley from Philadelphia; Patricia and Richard White from Virginia; Julian Hopkins (Christine) from Colorado and Dyanna Beyers (Joshua) from California; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Bill served in the United States Air Force and retired after serving 25 years. After retirement he operated several service stations here in town; the Chevron at Garden of the Gods, the Amoco on Nevada and the Downtown Automotive store. Bill always had a nick name for everyone he knew, he also loved telling you a good joke and getting you to laugh. Committal services are planned for Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 1:30 p.m., Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado, Area "B". A Celebration of Life service will be Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., Anchor Way Baptist Church, 3125 Virginia Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Evercare Hospice and Pastor Ed Tropp for helping out and making Bills last journey peaceful. Rest in peace Mr. Old Fart.
