Zoe Starer Obituary

Zoe Starer, 91, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2007 after several years of declining health. Zoe was born on December 9, 1915 in New York City to Hyman and Laura Cibul. She was married to Emanuel Starer for 30 years and they had three children, Ruana, Ingrid and Marc. Zoe spent most of her life in New York. She was a graduate of Walton High School and Hunter College in New York. Zoe worked for the Planned Parenthood Worldwide Federation for many years and retired in March 1984. She liked to travel, enjoyed dancing and was an avid bridge and scrabble player. Zoe left her many friends in Riverdale, NY to move to Colorado Springs in 2000 to be close to her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ingrid Starer and Lee Taylor, her grandson, Lucas Taylor, her son, Marc Starer, and grandchildren Dylan and Taylor Starer, Mia and Jason Weitzen, and her sister, Vera Zirn. Cremation has taken place at her request. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. at Temple Beit Torah, 522 E. Madison, Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Beit Torah, P.O. Box 25909, Colorado Springs, CO 80936-5909. In gratitude for their caring and assistance, memorial donations may also be made to Aspen Living Center and Odyssey Hospice.
